Meet the Control Panel
The control panel is the central hub of QVC. It gives you full control over your room, participants, and settings — all in one place. From here, you can manage who’s in the meeting, update display names, and customize the overall experience to fit your needs.
The participant column lets you quickly assign or edit names, making it easy to keep track of who's who. If needed, you can remove someone from the room with a generic reason or write a specific one on the spot, giving you flexibility in how you manage disruptions.
When using screensharing, multiple participants can stream their displays at the same time. The room manager — anyone with access to the control panel — can choose which screen is visible to everyone, making it simple to focus the group’s attention. Whether it’s switching between presentations or highlighting a particular view, the manager stays in control.
In moveable mode, the manager can decide whether participants can move or resize their video windows. This helps balance freedom and structure depending on the meeting format. Audio is just as flexible — you can adjust each person's volume individually, setting them to full, half, muted, or “boom” for a boost.
The control panel is built for adaptability. You can change settings on the fly without disrupting the flow of the conversation, giving you the tools to respond to what’s happening in real time.
Friction-free Joining
How frustrating is to email links to people who need them to join the meeting?
In a Quick Video Chat room, emailing links are a thing of the past! That's because you can't join someone else's room just by having the link to the meeting. It isn't possible, because everyone get authenticated easily.
No waiting room.
You can join a Quick Video Chat room one of two ways: Exactly 10 minutes before the start of the meeting, every participant will receive another email with an instant, passwordless login link to join the meeting (does not require a login code). This login link will only be valid during the meeting. To login without this link, you an alternatively request a 6-digit code, enter the code to login, and you can join the in-progress meeting from the drop-down at the top of the window.
Screensharing & Spotlighting
Spotlighting in automatic mode is effortless. The spotlighted participant is automatically moved to the center of the screen, while everyone else lines the edges—making it easy to follow the conversation without any clicks or distractions.
Screensharing takes things a step further. When someone shares their screen, it becomes the primary focus, taking center stage. If spotlighting is active at the same time, the spotlighted individual is smartly repositioned to the top-left corner, so they remain visible without overlapping the shared content. This layout keeps the attention where it belongs—on the screen—while still showing who's speaking.
Multiple participants can share their screens, but the room manager is always in control: they can choose which screenshare to highlight at any moment, ensuring a smooth, focused experience for everyone in the room.
Automatic or Moveable?
Everyone is placed and size automatically by the system. Quick Video chat magically repositions everyone on the screen when people enter or leave. You can see automatic mode in the video at the top of this page.
Everyone can move and resize themselves, using the arrow keys on the keyboard. Although this is a fun experience, for most serious meetings this can get distracting quickly if participants move their own icons when they should be paying attention to something else. You can start the meeting in moveable mode and then switch to automatic when you're ready to get down to business.
